Francesinhas..

Exactly today I am going to talk about Francesinhas, in which the translation would literaly be the diminutive for French Girl.
Indeed, this is definitly one of the best dishes (if not the best) you can get in the North of Portugal!
Anyway.. what am I going to say about it!? Well.. a long time ago, a Northern portuguese Sage went to live in France and discovered the famous croque-monsieur (french sandwich, made of two slices of bread with some ham and cheese pressed in between pressed in a toaster).
Then someday he had to leave back to Portugal because his journey in the Gauls land! Once he arrived back to our nation, he brought something with him.. a taste.. an idea! Something he felt was incomplete but that could be completed!
He started by preparing the common Croque-Monsieur, but instead of putting the cheese in it, he decided to keep it aside!
He looked at it and added some "chouriço" (and no not chourizo like the spanish, CHOURIçO!!), Mortadela, linguiça (some kind of spicy sausage, related to chouriço I guess hehe ;) and because he wasn't yet satisfied he had taken the decision to introduce a nice thin slice of steak.. after that he added another succulent segment of ham and finaly.. on top of it the ending slice of bread! And no, it's not over yet! After that he pressed this "œuvre d'art" between two hot plates heated with fire! When the bread reached to the golden colour he took it out and.. indeed.. the cheese still has to be added.. so he decided to put it on top of it and let it melt thanks to the golden heat! You probably think it's done, finished, accomplished, concluded, completed, mastered.. (I could keep going with other synonyms but I won't be that mean with you guys, even if now I'm just making this text even longer hoping to getting closer and closer to drive you nuts and wanting, desiring to know the truthful ending of this exquisite masterpiece) anyway.. the last drop of flavour and sublime taste comes from the spicy, tomato based, sauce! (which it's secret composition is.. hmm.. I'm not telling you sorry about that!) Now you're curious aren't you? Well I sure hope so.. cause after all this time (20min) that I'm writing this, I sure hope at least one person is interested in tasting this ravishing "pièce de résistance"... in other words, PERFECTION!

Would be nice to get some comments so.. feel free to do so! =)

Only to me..

Good morning everyone, here am I at the doctor waiting on a line of 3 persons! Yeahh I know, exciting way to start the day!
I'll explain you how I got to this marvelous position today... well it basically started Saturday evening, I donno what was on my mind but I felt like sleeping on top of my shoulder and yesterday when I got up I had a whole lot of pain all around my shoulder, I tried to put some cream on it and plenty of heat, and by the end of the day it looked like today was going to be less agonizing... well I was wrong... probably just slept some 2 hours tops..
Anyway.. now I'm back at work, and to make things better I still had time to do some sliding on the snow"ice" I think they should really think about salting the roads in Belgium.. just an idea!
